Ooh, baby, baby!

Well, she's here. No pictures yet because we forgot the USB cable for the camera, but TCBIM is going home to get it today, so there will be some later.

At 11:59 p.m., Charlotte Jane finally made her entrance. Face up. I REALLY don't recommend having a baby face up. It REALLY hurts, even when you do have huge amounts of epidural drugs running thru your body. She's 7 lbs, 12 oz, 21 inches long and seems perfect. She's currently lying in her bassinet next to me, sleeping away, like the good girl that she is. She nurses like a champion and boy, does she let you know when she's pissed off! She already has a scowl that'll put the fear of god into you.

I have a uterine infection and the midwife had to go back up inside my uterus to pull out a bowl full of blood clots. Loads of fun, that one. But it seems to be getting better - I'll be on antibiotics for the next 24 hours. It wasn't the easiest delivery, but all in all, not too horrible. TCBIM WILL be phoning the urologist today, though. Snip, snip, baby. I've done more than my share, he can join in a little of the pain.

The coolest thing - my cousin in Madrid also delivered her little girl, Chloe, yesterday, so the girls will share a birthday. Barely, but hey, it's the same day, that's all that matters.

And now, I haven't had anything to eat since 9 yesterday morning, so I'm going to see what they offer for food at this place. I'd eat dried linoleum right about now, I'm so freakin' hungry.

Pictures later....

Welcome little Charlotte Jane!

A sunny-side up delivery, eh? Those (as you intimately know) are some of the most difficult labors and births.

So glad you're on the other side of it.

In the meantime, rest and enjoy all of those post-labor endorphins :-)

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely send TCBIM to Friendly's! I became a very big fan of oatmeal during my 5 day stay after having A. Everything else was pretty crappy.

Hooray she's here!! I can't beleive you are blogging! lol what a world we've come to, less than a day after you have a baby you're telling the world by blogging. wonderful!! Happy Birthday Charlotte Jane!!
Oh and that Baby CJ has the right idea being born face up, now you know she's gonna be a spitfire!

As for the snip snip it's not too bad. I'd wait till you are completely healed though, cuz he's going to act like the biggest baby on the planet. (Here are a couple tips, buy some frozen corn, no seriously, it helps with the swelling and pain. Put some in a small sandwich size zip loc baggie. Make two so they can be alternated. Wrap them in a towel before applying you know where.) Good luck with that! (You know I watched my ex's procedure. I don't know why but I did. See I thought my friend had told me SHE WATCHED it when her husband went. Apparently she had went with him but waited in the waiting room. OOOpps! lol , I'd advise NOT going in to watch, unless that interests you. lol.

Welcome Charlotte Jane! Love that name--good choice! I'm so excited for you. I know you're ready for the pregnancy part to be done with and the baby part to commence. Hope you're both well enough to go home soon--though you should take advantage of this quiet time!

And welcome cousin Chloe, too!
