I am so tired.
We are moving tomorrow. Again. And while I'm looking forward to living in our new digs, I loathe moving. The packing. The unpacking. It's so tedious and never ending. Especially when trying to do it with toddlers.
Our new landlord seems like a very nice guy. However, he has horrible taste in paint (by his own admission.)
Witness. You may want to don shades first.
Teal. Very, very, very teal.
Which is next to the mauve. It's like an 80s flashback.
Only without the hair. And jelly bracelets.
Reallyreallyreally ridiculously lavender.

But the back yard is lovely. And mowable.
It has a huge maple tree, perfect for hanging
a wooden swing from. And the grass is lush and
inviting. Yesterday, the three girls were lying on
their backs, watching the clouds go by and I felt at
peace, and at home. And that? Felt fantastic.
(Now who wants to help me paint?)

Very nice--except the paint. Wow, that paint. It's very colorful. It's good you can paint it. I lived in a Pepto-Bismal pink place that I was not 'allowed' to paint. It was nauseating. It very well may have taken a year off my life...
Excellent back yard. But i do feel ever so slightly nauseous after seeing that paintwork.
Is it really bad that I love the tangerine?
Okay, maybe not that MUCH tangerine, and I'd do big trim with a pale cornmeal colour....
That back yard is gorgeous.
Dude should learn one word: eggshell. I mean, color is good, but not for people who have no sense in their heads.
Donning my paper bag to tell you I'm pretty sure my kitchen is painted that exact shade of orange. By choice... ;) Congrats on the new digs!
Hopefully the neighbors are just as wonderful as the yard!
You know, if you picked one or two of those colours and just dialed them down a little, they would probably be quite lovely. Colour is good. Just maybe not four different extremely bright and vibrant colours.
I'd help you paint if I were closer. Good luck!
Keep the lavender till last... maybe after the other craziness is dealt with, it'll be nice.
Says me, who is thinking of painting her bedroom something similar... though, in my defense, a lot paler.
Paint colours and flying too close to the sun? Dude, you really do hate moving.
It looks like a lovely home. Now go unpack and pick some nice colours and let us see the result.
Wait, did he do the thing I did once and raid the mistakes bin at the local paint store? I kinda love the tangerine too, but I'm guessing the problem is not so much the individual colors, but the fact that ALL of them are deployed within one small space. Yowza.
If I wasn't in the middle of Project Living Room myself over here, I'd come over and help you.
I guess he's not into neutral colors.
Congrats on the new home and that you feel at home and at peace there. May the bad color palette be the worst of your worries.
I love the backyard!!! And the paint colors? Well it's only paint and that can be fixed in time!!
There's nothing as wonderful as a big back yard.
And pssst, that teal kinda matches your blog. ;-) At least on my monitor. Snort.
Of course, I think it's a lovely, lovely color.
Ohai ghastly colours. Jesus. I'm surprised (yet thankful) that the landlord has said you can paint. Phew.
I am so very jealous of that back yard. Sigh.
I don't think the colors are completely that bad. Just way too much of it in a small spot.
Love the backyard.
that mauve color is in my daughters room.
when we moved here the guy had it painted that way. i dont know why...so until i paint over that junk, i let my 15 year old use chalk on it and her and her friends draw all over it.
it works and keeps her off my back for now about painting it.
i love the backyard...very nice. i myself like that kitchen color. i'm partial to orange though.
The teal matches your blog perfectly. How could you NOT love it? The lavender room would be great for the girls, no? If it's in your wealth corner, (standing, facing your front door, all the way back to the left), it's perfect Feng Shui. Don't change it! And if the tangerine is in the middle of the house, I'd leave it alone. You have to live there so do whatever you want! Sorry, I can't help you paint. I have to work tomorrow. Good luck with your move and I hope your new home is where you all love to be and you make happy memories there!! Hugs and love, T :)
If I lived closer, I would be there! I love to paint! :)
My last bedroom was an awful mint green color. Everyone who saw it said it would have been perfect one shade lighter or one shade darker but as it was, it was just awful. And I wasn't allowed to paint so I just had to wear sunglasses to bed.
I would so come help if I lived nearby!!! :D Those are some - ahem - colorful choices....but I don't blame ya one bit for wanting to repaint!! I'm so glad it feels right. That's how it was when we moved to our house we have now. Just, right. Home. A lovely feeling! :D Congrats - though I too hate the move part. Again, wish I could help!
But I *like* the tangerine!
One day in the future when we sell our house, someone will probably complain about our color choices, too. Luckily, painting is a quick fix!
i like the tangerine too.
but i LOVE the yard.
happy for you.
I absolutely hate to paint. But with those colors, even I may reconsider.
