Killing Me (Not So) Softly

I got home from work on Saturday or Sunday (the weekends are a blur these days) to this:

A very blurry shot, but Boo had chopped off The Bug's hair, to about an inch and a half. All over the top of her head. She also has this interesting half-long, half short look going on in the back. This on a girl who didn't have a lot of hair to begin with. Boo also chopped her own hair, but I don't have the heart to post that particular debacle. All I can say is it's a good thing I got a $10 off coupon to the salon the other day. Oy.

The Bug decided that the Daddy doll needed to spend some time in the oven. With his paintbrush (as you do). Unfortunately, the live Mum didn't discover this until she'd already turned on said oven to make dinner tonight.

And just to round it all out, Boo decided to color her hand red. Not with any old marker, though. With the permanent marker.

In other news, Friday I became the answer to Life, The Universe and Everything. If this weekend is anything to go by, it's looking to be a totally craptastic year.

Send vodka.

Happy Belated Birthday! Having children must be a constant adventure. Just remember (and for heavens sake take lots of pictures) - these stories are going to be wonderful to torment the little darlings when they're teenagers.

Revenge is a dish best served cold and all that...

Wonderful pictures for interesting stories later. I remember way back when my nephew was about a year and a half. He got into his mother's nail polish and was banging to bottles together. Well we know what happened next. The bottles exploded all over and himself as well. His dad and mom brought him to our house all panicked not knowing what to do. Here's this little child full of bright pink nail polish all splashed over his skin, mostly his face. My first instinct was to take a picture. Everyone wasn't so happy about that. Lol. I have it here somewhere...
Boo's hand reminded me of that memory. Try dipping her hand in a bottle of cheap hairspray.

okay i'm a dork, sorry... spray the hairspray on her hand and scrub.

Yikes! I have a picture of Bethany after she used permanent marker to decorate her face. Baby wipes do wonders, by the way!

(((Hugs))) and Happy Belated Birthday! :)

I don't think I can mail you vodka so how about I give YOU a mandatory, big, long time out at the nearest spa!! :)

A little rubbing alcohol might work on removing the permanent marker. Don't worry, kids do things like this all the time!! Just be glad that you caught said doll in the oven before he made a bigger mess!

Hugs!!
Did you get the cake I sent you?
:)

Happy birthday, a bit late. You've just celebrated the anniversary of your 25th birthday. You just don't have to always admit *which* anniversary it is...

Hair grows, ink fades, and all will be well. I'll label the package "potatoes" so no one knows I'm sending vodka through the US Mail.

Happy Belated Birthday! At least your life isn't boring! (Sorry - that's the best I've got!)

The wonderful thing about kid issues is that you archive them away, pictures included and pull them all out on holidays when the kids come home. They pretend to 'hate' you telling the stories over and over as laugh over every juicy detail. Remember the time you colored your hand red with a permanent marker! But your family stories become the trademark of your family events. Thanks for sharing.

Also laughing with you.

Right?

RIGHT?

(because sometimes you have to laugh to keep from cryin'.)
