Behind Closed Doors

You know what I like best about my new house?

Oh, sure, the house is cute. The neighbours are seemingly fine, with no huge dogs crapping in the yard. The neighbourhood itself is quiet and clean and my kids can play outside with no fear of being attacked by rabid hordes of children.

But do you know what's the best? What I just discovered tonight, after hours of two short whiny people running after me all day, crying "Mama! Mama! Mama!"

You want to know?

There's a LOCK on the bathroom door.

Fanfuckingtastic.

The only thing better than that is having a second toilet in the house. Means you can lock the doors for showers and leg-waxing if you so desire.

Awesome.

Just make sure there's a way to get in when one of the short whiny people locks herself in...

Oh so true. We just moved from our previous place that had 2 bathroom, only one of which the door would actually stay closed to our new place with one bathroom that has a temperamental doorjam due to weather and settling.

I think an investment of a deadbolt will be the familys saving grace.

It's the little things that make a house a home....

All you need now is a small perimeter guarded by dogs and you're all set.

I covet your door lock! When I grow up, I'm going to get one. I'd put one in this house but, I need a whole new house. It's at the top of the list of things I want along with running water and electricity!!
Congrats!!
Hugs!!

Oh, too funny! But I agree w/the comment about figuring out what to do when the little ones lock themselves in. My wild child used to do that, but didn't realize I could pop the lock with an opened paperclip. Ooooh, how frustrating that mom could magically get through the locked door. Ooooh, the power! The eyes in the back of my head thing? It's true! It's part of my superpower! And yes, I can see a black spot on your tongue when you lie to me!

Gotta keep your edge.

Why would anyone ever have a bathroom without a lock? I'm just sayin'.

Glad the new house is great in every way.

Congratulations. My husband does not understand the sheer bliss of uninterrupted bathroom time. I swear, there are days when I contemplate taking a day of leave, just to have the opportunity to color my hair and take as long of a shower as I want to.
