Wow

I just got the mail and there was something in it from Clara Barton Camp. I'd registered O two weeks ago and applied for a campership, but I didn't think I'd hear anything so soon. Lo and behold, it was the notification letter.

Barton is an expensive camp. Well, to me, it's expensive. $2,000 for two weeks. That's a lot of money for us, way more than we can afford. Thus the campership application.

And they awarded her $1450.

Wow.

Just. Wow.

I'm so happy right now. O is going to be thrilled. She's at the Cape until Friday, with school. More on that tomorrow.

Right now, just wow.

Julia -

This is awesome news. From another CBC campership girl, congrats to O.

Let me know if you need any help with other FR methods. My mother used to raise the remainder with me when the campership didn't cover the whole thing.

Yeah, but these news aren't as great as realizing that "campership" is a word.

P.S. It IS a word, right?

YAY!! As another CBC girl, I am so glad to hear that O will be at Clara Barton another summer.

Man, I miss that place.

Hey Nicole, can we go back to camp with O? ;)

That's fantastic! I know that O enjoys camp so much--I'm glad she's going to get to go again this year.

After reading this post, Kerri - I kept thinking about camp. I even googled CBC and found a bunch of photos... It made me so nostalgic... I think we should stow away in O's suitcase.

Joke - well, if it's not a word, then it should be made one.

Nicole - you're titchy, you could maybe squeeze into her duffle bag. If Kerri's coming, too, then we're gonna need a bigger bag. It won't hold the both of you, no matter that you both are skinnymalinks.

That's excellent news. I visited Clara Barton about 10 years ago for a diabetes advocacy meeting.

The kids looked like they were having a whale of a time. I'll bet she loves it.
