MM - Ha! No, I don't have any talent at all when it comes to html or website design. I paid for this template. It's from Luna Stone designs. Her link is in the sidebar, towards the bottom. I had this design up before but took it down because it was loading slowly. I think it was something in my sidebar, though - I cleaned that up and it seems to be faster for some people.
Rachel - was it loading slowly for you before I took stuff out of my sidebar?

Arghhhh. It's an internet explorer thing. I just checked your site on a Mac, on a PC on Firefox, and then on IE7. The Mac and the FF browser loaded in good time. The IE? Holy fuck that took forever.
Depends on what browser your visitors are using, I think. Check your statcounter - if they're mostly Internet Explorer, you have to fix it. I'm officially never checking your site from IE again. I was aaaaaaaaaaaging waiting for it to load. Now I'm old and crotchety. ;)

umm at the risk of being beaten over the head it's loading slowly for me again.... and I just had my computer reformatted over the last weekend so there can't be that much crap on my computer for it to be running that crappily!

It took forever to load. I am using IE.
I guess if people don't want to download Firefox, it's going to be slow. I have no idea how to fix that other than using the fugly Blogger templates and since I paid good money for the monkey, I want to use it.
Kerri - do you know how to help it load faster in IE or is it merely a template thing and people on IE are screwed? Shoot me an email if you have any ideas (beyond blowing up the template).
I didn't think anyone used IE any more, to be honest. Firefox rocks and it's a piece of cake to download and use. Best of all, it blocks about 99% of the pop up ads.
Aha - when I checked at lunch, it was awful - read the comments though and everyone else seemed ok. But now I'm reading that it's IE - hmmm. My son keeps telling me to do Firefox so maybe I'll have to do that just to keep up with you.

Firefox on a Mac for me and it took a long time. I think it's been 5 minutes since I started trying to load the page. Sorry :( I like it too. My internet here at school is a slow-as-molasses piece of crap connection anyways though.

I'm on IE 6 because I didn't like 7 - I hate tabs.
Anyway, the background loaded a little faster than the post but the whole thing loaded in about 10 seconds tops.
I'm running Safari on the Macbook. Firefox seems to be just fine, too. And I didn't notice a problem at all - just with the more generic Blogger layout you had for awhile - that took for frickin ever.
It did used to load slow for me, but it loaded much faster this time.!

I'm using Netscape on Mac and it loads fine.
This loaded slower than the Blogger template, but faster than it used to. I use IE7; evidently that's my problem.
Firefox sounds worth a try.

I'm on IE 7 (I think - at work so not sure which upgrade level it is). It loaded slower for me before, but it's better. It still takes a second or two, but no worse than some of the other sites I visit.

It may be parts of your template. If you want to cut and paste your main index template into a Notepad doc and send it to me, I can mess with it from here and see if I can isolate what the glitch is.
But I'm in FF at the moment. On a Mac. And it's fine. I tried from IE7 on my other system and it frigging bit it again.
Seems like it's an intermittent thing. I'm convinced it's one of those java-based widgets in your sidebar. Email me the index. :) (And call me at the office if this makes no sense. Forgive me for still sounding like Darth Vader, all sicky.)

I have IE and it works fine for me. Maybe it's a Vista thing (I'm happily Vista-free now)? I blame everything on vista :D
