1. What's a meta post? I've seen a few bloggers use this phrase and I can't figure out what it means.
2. How do I get my blog roll into a drop down menu format? It's very unweildy as it is now. Also, how do I get it to tag with new posts? It's linked thru bloglines - I thought that automatically showed which blogs had been updated, but it doesn't seem to be doing that on my list.
3. I'm not insane enough to attempt NaNoWriMo, but I think I'm going to try the November post a day thing that's oozing around the blogosphere. Anyone else doing that?
I guess that was three questions.

There's a post-a-day thing oozing around the blogosphere? I missed that--and just when I was determining to step back on my posting, too. Figures. LOL
Normally for me 'meta' posts mean that I'm blogging about blogging, instead of blogging about ... well ... anything else remotely interesting. Does that seem to fit?
I'm not sure about any of those questions. I ended up splitting my list onto a page all by itself - it references my bloglines feeds, so it kind of updates itself when I add new blogs.
A blog a day? Sheesh. I'm feeling lucky to spit something out once a MONTH these days!
Take care!
1. Meta post? I'm lost on that one.
2. My blogroll is linked through Blogrolling and I can chose in my preferences how I want to append the updated blogs. I don't know how bloglines works. Does it have a similar dashboard type of thing where you can tweak the hell out of it?
3. NaNoWriMo. My stomach is in knots just thinking about it. But excited knots. Excited knots that can't formulate a plot at the moment. Plotless knots. ... I'm rambling.
I'm doing NaBloPoMo, (Andrea, try fussy.org for details) although I can't tell you the answer to your technical questions - I'm trying to figure out if I've 'shortened' my feeds (so as to befuddle the Bitacle trolls)or if I've shortened all the feeds that I receive....some days I think I need a manual. Staying on track takes a lot of work.
I'm with Andrea. I missed all this stuff. As for the techy stuff, I don't have a clue.
i think i might do the fussy challenge..and post every day in november...i already post m-f every week anyway - what's the harm in adding two more posts a week???
You can do an expandable box with "Flooble"
http://www.flooble.com/scripts/expand.php?op=get
I use those. I read with bloglines, but do my blogroll with blogrolling.com and do that update tag thingy that Kerri talked about.
I didn't know what the meta post was either - thanks andrea!
Here is a link for drop down boxes, this one is for archives, but go to the main page (or just look around) and you should find drop down for blogroll -

I also have a code for a scrolling box that I use, but I can't post it in comments because it screws it all up, lol, so just email me if you want it and I'll send it to you in an email, it works that way.
I'm doing the NaNoWriMo - I don't even know why, just for fun I guess, lol... yeah fun, lets write 50,000 words for no reason at all! What the heck was I thinking?? LOL
1: I don't know.
2: I dont know that either.
3: That sounds like fun! And a lot of blogging! I can do it! I can do it!!
I believe a Meta post is a post where you just post in your own blog to comment about a bunch of other people's blog entries. I think.
I have something for you on the first one...
"meta" sort of means about the thing itself.
A metasite online, for example, is a site of links, or a site of sites. So a "meta" post is a post about posting or blogging.
When the message and the medium become one...
Not too sure about the blog-a-day business - could end up with lots and lots of crap and then run out. Not feeling up to being join-y this time around.
