(Blogger is being a temperamental bitch and won't format this properly. I'm sick of fussing with it, so fuck it. It's going to look like crap. )
Because I am a professional procrastinator, it's taken me a while to get Lara's questions answered. But finally, here they are.
1. Why did you start blogging? - I started blogging when I ran across Six Until Me, a
fantastic blog written by Kerri. She has type 1 diabetes, as does my daughter, O. I
also started reading Mimi Smartypants and a whole host of other blogs (not Dooce, though.
She never appealed to me.), some diabetes-related, some not. A little light bulb went off in my
head and I thought, hey, I could do this, too. And thus was Major Bedhead born. It wasn't out
of a huge need to be heard, but I thought it would be fun and a good way to possibly improve my
writing skills (shut up). Most days, though, it's just someplace for me to do a brain dump. And
you lucky people get to read it. Or not, as the mood suits. So, no great insights there, I just thought
it could be fun.
2. What is the most random (but still good!) compliment you've ever
received? - A girl at the supermarket told me I had beautiful fingernails. And I got
carded at the package store this past week. THAT was a lovely compliment.
3. What do you think is the quality that best makes you a good friend? - I'm a good
listener and I don't judge. I'm loyal and I'm punctual to a fault. If I say I'm going to be there,
then, barring some unforeseeable catastrophe, I'll be there.
4. If you had a free weekend getaway anywhere in the world - childcare
is taken care of, money is no object - for you and one other person of
your choice, who would you take and where would you go? - Easy peasey. New York City.
Yes, I've been there loads, but never with an unlimited budget. And as much as I love
TCBIM, I'd take my cousin Sarah (Hi Sarah!) because she and I like to do the same thing,
namely eat and read. The Cloisters, Central Park, Junior's, Murray's, a whole slew of
restaurants that I've dreamed of eating in, Max Brenner's chocolates, Zabar's,
Dean & DeLuca; the list goes on and on. Since the Plaza has gone condo (poor Eloise), we'd have to stay
at some other swanky midtown hotel, a rummage thru SoHo and Little Italy, maybe a Broadway show,
several hours wandering thru The Strand...it'd be heavenly.
5. What do you miss most about the 16-year-old you? - My legs. They went on for miles.
It helped that I was 5'8" (well, I still am) and weighed 118 lbs, too. *sigh*
Ok, if anyone wants to play along, leave me a comment and your email address and
I'll do my best to come up with some interesting questions.

That was fun! I'm 5'8" too but 118 was a loooong time ago. I wish I'd enjoyed it more when I was in the middle of it.
Ask me some questions; I'm always up for something that makes me think.
