The author, Manuel, has ...Yes, I got that message. The author, Manuel, has been very active pitching his site lately. But 2 things about it are bothersome:

1) He stole the name "Diabetes Monitor" from Bill Quick's site (DiabetesMonitor.com), which has been around for 10 yrs. Understandably, Bill is not happy about this.

2) Manuel "borrowed" a number of my posts, and rewrote them for his Spanish-speaking audience, but with some serious content errors that I had to correct.

Just FYI...

Best,
AmyTAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17409854.post-1151332304062030252006-06-26T10:31:00.000-04:002006-06-26T10:31:00.000-04:00I haven't gotten the message yet, but am guessing ...I haven't gotten the message yet, but am guessing its coming...

As for O, my first guess is growth spurt/puberty in general or she's fighting something (cold, infection, sinus??)...floreksahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11826898233141738110noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17409854.post-1151331397310243882006-06-26T10:16:00.000-04:002006-06-26T10:16:00.000-04:00Julia,Your comments at the blog meant so much to m...Julia,

Your comments at the blog meant so much to me today -- and I thank you.

I have at least two days a month -- usually somewhere around my period, but not consistently on the same days around my period, where my bloodsugars are pretty much totally out of control. They spike and then don't come down. Since I can't pin down which days they're going to be, I can't really see them coming and adjust my basals/boluses until they're right on top of me. This has happened since I was around 14. And I still haven't figured out how to fix it -- it's like no matter how much insulin I take, no matter how much I rage bolus, the bloodsugars are pretty much determined to stay in the high 200s to high 300s. I talked to my doc about them and he made suggestions about increases in basal rate at the first sign -- which I tried last month. Even with doubled!!! basal rates and increased boluses for meals/correction, I was still in the 200s for most of the two days.

Unfortunately for me, this months start of the days occurred in direct conjunction with my Anniversary. And it made me angry and sad and frustrated.

You are so right. What really gets me is the vicious endlessness of it. Sometimes I just want a break and I know I can't take one... So I just keep doing the best that I can - and somedays I'm much, much better than others.

I got that same message the other day and still have it saved. I wasn't sure what to make of it...Nicole Phttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11847231791131970750noreply@blogger.com
